Alexander Technique

“You are not here to learn how to do something the right way but to encounter the stimulus that always misleads you and to learn how to deal with it. »

The Alexander Technique and the use of oneself

Frederick Matthias Alexander, (1869–1955), Australian actor, saw his career compromised by a voice problem. He developed work that restored his eloquence and had a profound influence on his health and well-being. He thus created a method of global rehabilitation, taking into account the human being in all his dimensions.

The F. Mathias Alexander technique is internationally recognized.
Intended for artists to increase their skill, for athletes to correct or prevent muscular imbalances responsible for injuries, for creators and for all those who wish to regain their natural ability to act with ease in their daily lives.

This technique allows us to free ourselves from our habits, from our restrictive patterns acquired in our education.
On the physical level:
By letting appear a motricity free of reactions and anticipations favoring the emergence of fluid and spontaneous movements appropriate to all situations.
On the psychic level:
This release from our patterns of reference will have repercussions on all aspects of our lives.
The extreme technique mastered by the practitioner finds its fulfillment where all the "doings" become an "undoing".

The Alexander Technique is taught in individual sessions. Within everyone's reach, it allows us to discover the blockages that hinder our well-being.
The teacher will be able to resonate in his student new learning spaces, free of memory, and where the autonomy of this one will be revealed.
The sensory re-education process is carried out gently. The active participation of the student leads him to refine his sense of observation as well as his awareness of himself and his environment.

During the sessions, the teacher uses touch and verbal indications to create an overall balance in all the musculature. Thus awakened, the natural and innate coordination of the axis formed by the head, the neck and the spinal column becomes the true dynamic support of the being. It guides the student in simple movements: getting up, sitting down, walking; or more complex: working on a computer, singing, playing an instrument, dancing, playing sports. He teaches her how to maintain this well-being while preventing unnecessary tension.
Little by little this new experience takes precedence over the old sensations. The student becomes more vigilant and acquires new skills that allow him to recreate this balance and rediscovered harmony as desired.
An Alexander Method lesson provides an immediate feeling of well-being.

The Alexander Technique is taught in many renowned institutions: Brussels Conservatory; Julliard school of performing in New York, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and Conservatoire National de Musique in Paris.

It is beneficial for people who suffer from stress, chronic pain, and as a therapeutic complement after certain accidents.
It offers the possibility of gentle global rehabilitation.
It reduces the attitudes of compensation so frequent in pregnant women.
It is aimed at anyone looking for better availability
